Polli Unnayan Mahila Sangstha (PUMS) Training center at Nandile, Mymensingh
Women face threats to their daily living and wellbeing as a result of their lack of power and influence in society. For sustainable development of a country, women empowerment by improving their socioeconomic status is essential.
Polli Unnayan Mahila Sangstha (PUMS) is located in Nandile, Mymensingh. This organization was founded by some dedicated local social workers in 2019 which is registered under the Ministry of Women affairs. PUMS is committed to empower disadvantaged rural women through training, education and support. In January 2021, Rupantor training centre (RTC) initiated some skill development training which were funded by CABD. With the guidance of RTC, PUMS grew rapidly and accommodates over one hundred members at present.
Program components
Ongoing educational and training activities that are being conducted by RTC for the members of PUMS can be categorized as follows,
· Training and Workshop for Organic food production
· Awareness Seminars on health and environment
· Maternal & Community Health Services
· Income Generation Program and Credit Support for Income Generating Activities
· Computer and English learning
